Benny Kenner

Personal Experience

Benny Kenner brings the perspective of an active CEO and business owner who has lived through the full arc of a lower middle market transaction. Benny is the Chief Executive Officer of Specialty Freight (owners of Gateway Distribution, Inc., a Cincinnati-based trucking, freight, and distribution company operating a fleet of more than 50 trucks serving customers across the United States. Benny also oversees City Dash, a local delivery and courier service in the Midwest. Benny also owns another unrelated 3PL company in the Cincinnati region.

Benny joined Gateway Distribution in 2014 and rose through executive leadership to the CEO role. In March 2020, Gateway Distribution was acquired by Brixey & Meyer Capital (BMC), a Dayton-based private equity firm, with Benny and his management team continuing to lead the company under new ownership — a structure he negotiated, transitioned into, and has operated within for more than five years. That direct, lived experience of evaluating a buyer, structuring a deal, and operating a closely held business post-close is the perspective Benny brings to BBA’s clients. Benny studied Communication at the University of Cincinnati and lives in the Cincinnati area.
